Essential Handgun Skills. A one day class that will give you essential skills to take your handgun shooting to the next level and give you solid technique to practice and develop your skills. This class, like all my classes, will be taught on more of a “performance coach” style with lots of individual attention. Topics covered. Safety Shooting fundamentals Sights Grip and how to improve it Trigger control Draw stroke (both AIWB and Strong Side) Reloads Shooting cadence and how it relates to trigger control and sight alignment This class is fast paced and is tailored to improve your shooting skill level by giving you proven techniques that work under stress! The techniques shown in class will help the student understand where their level is currently, how to improve their shooting, and how to improve it with a well laid out plan on practice. We will work on how to control stress and how to inoculate yourself to stress so you can better deal with it during any event that might bring on high stress. Safety will be covered on how it relates to an armed lifestyle. Shooting fundamentals. Only the fundamentals matter… we will go into great detail on how to improve your fundamentals and make you a better shooter and why some of the fundamentals don't matter as much as you think they might. Trigger Control, There are many different ways to work the trigger on a handgun, but only few work well. We will cover what I firmly believe is the best way to work a trigger!! Sights will be explained in depth with options given to make faster shots with acceptable accuracy given the target size. Grip is one of the most important things for shooting a handgun well! It will be explained in detail and how to improve your control of the handgun and how to improve your grip strength. Trigger control is the KEY to shooting well and must be mastered to become a very competent shooter. We will work on several drills that will allow you to become much better at trigger control! Draw stroke is one of my biggest pet peeves!! I see SO many good to average shooters that don’t understand that what is holding them back is their draw stroke. We will cover draw stroke in depth and how to get better and faster at it, both two handed and strong hand only. Reloads will be covered in detail giving you the best options on how to reload the gun under stress. Shooting cadence and speed. We will cover techniques on how to shoot at the speed needed for each target. Students will need: Range gear Ear and Eye protection Belt holster. AIWB, IWB or OWB. NO Serpas. 16 hour advanced wilderness first aid training. This is a 2 day program for a total of 16 hours of training.   This event is:  Saturday from 9:30am to 6:30pm and Sunday 9:30am to 6:30pm   (CPR certification is also available at the end of the class from 6:30pm to 7:30pm)    Cost is $150.00 per person for the Wilderness First Aid Only.   Cost is $165.00 per person for the Wilderness First Aid and Adult CPR and AED. A $25.00 deposit is required to hold your spot at registration and the balance is due at the door.   Call us with any questions at 720-524-6447 Upon completion you will receive a 3 year certification from ASHI.  This certification is accepted by the Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts, and all other organization requiring advanced wilderness first aid.  This class is open to persons 14 or older. The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course will help you prepare for the unexpected. This fast paced, hands-on training is designed to meet the needs of trip leaders, camp staff, outdoor enthusiasts and individuals working in remote locations. It will introduce you to caring for people who become ill or injured far from definitive medical care. Classroom lectures and demonstrations are combined with realistic scenarios where mock patients will challenge you to integrate your learning. The City Ruck Tour 2018 (CRT18) is a series of 60 friendly Ruck Marches hosted by Operation Enduring Warrior (OEW) and led by select volunteers from OEW’s Masked Athlete Team and OEW’s Community Ambassador population. The purpose is to perform outdoor fitness in a group setting, while learning more about OEW’s mission, which is to Honor, Empower, and Motivate our nation’s wounded military veterans. On average the distance will be 12 miles, and will vary from city to city, based on the assigned Ruck Leader’s plan. The pace will be moderate (approx. 18-20 minutes per mile), and the group will move together as one team. Short breaks will occur as needed. The amount of weight you carry in your rucksack is up to you. However, you are required to have two (2) quarts of water, a reflective band or belt on the outside of your ruck, and a headlamp or flashlight. Kid friendly. Dog friendly. There will be a Rally Point (RP) 3-4 miles from the End-Point, for any late comers to join in for the final miles. Upon conclusion of the ruck march, there will be a “Circle of Trust” closing ceremony where you will hear a testimony directly from one of our Adaptive Athlete honorees, or participating military veteran. Prepare to be inspired. Everyone in the circle will receive a CRT patch, and probably a hug! This year’s Tour is adopting a special theme…Veterans reaching out to Policemen! OEW will lead the nationwide effort in providing much needed relief to our hurting Law Enforcement Officer community. OEW challenges you to embrace this initiative. Every CRT city will have policemen rucking with us. We will hear their stories. We will demonstrate our support. We will show our respect. We will express our gratitude for the thankless and dangerous job they perform. OEW is helping launch a “Task Force Blue” (name pending approval) police services organization that will do for our injured cops what OEW does for our wounded vets, ultimately saving lives by preventing suicide. All CRT tour stops are FREE to cops (active and retired). Everyone else pays $25. Your registration fee goes directly to OEW’s treasury to fund OEW programs in addition to covering the cost of patches and volunteer Ruck Leader travel cost.
