This will be an evening exploring the intersection of creativity and spirituality through the story telling and performances of very special guest artists: Keynote: Ali Hussein: a doctoral candidate in Islamic studies at the University of Michigan, writing his dissertation on Jesus in Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi's thought and later Sufism. He is also a creative writer who recently published his first collection of essays titled: "Mystical Musings of a Contemporary Dervish," a work that explores the sacred role of art, culture and storytelling in the journey for spiritual self-realization. Lu Fuki: is the founder of the jazz collective Divine Providence, whose main focus is to unite and heal hearts by the use of sound. He is releasing his first album, inner horizons under the same name as his label Inner Horizons and currently working on his book on the reflections of spirit music called The Training of the Souls through the Theosophy and Sciences of Sound. He holds a Masters degree from Wayne State University in Near Eastern Languages specialised in Arabic where he focused on the literally genre of Tasliyah. He has wrote and edited many works on theology and esoteric sciences. Tazeen Ayub: is a singer-songwriter and guitarist who's played in a couple bands and currently plays with her husband in Lu Fuki and Divine Providence. Tazeen also hosts monthly open mics in Detroit and a weekly show on Instagram Live called, Digger Deeper, where she discusses art, spirituality, and activism with local artists. She is a Professor of Arabic at Henry Ford College and holds a Masters of Arts in Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language from UM-Ann Arbor.  Kamau Ayubbi: has served as a healthcare chaplain for 11 years with a background in youth counseling, visual art and the holistic healing arts.
